Haleigh was born and raised in the greater Chattanooga area and still often refers to the Scenic City as her home. In 2015, she moved west with her husband (Andy) and cat (Shiva) and now resides in Henderson, TN. She graduated in 2018 from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a B.S. in Education and in 2021 with a M.S. in Education, focusing on Literacy Studies. She enjoys each day teaching English Language Arts to her group of 5th graders.
Education is her passion. Haleigh has a strong desire to invest in the minds and lives of the next generation and set students on course to succeed in their secondary education and beyond. She believes that literacy is the cornerstone of the educational process, and that a strong literacy program is imperative for student success both in and out of the classroom.
As someone with a strong interest in the literacy sphere, she loves to read and to help instill that same love in her students. She is an advocate of student choice when it comes to book consumption and can often be found perusing a book store or Goodwill to find new additions to her classroom library that may pique the interest of a reluctant reader.
