Computer Lab
Students have the opportunity to participate in computer lab activities at Chester County Middle School for 45 minutes each week.
Fourth graders create a portfolio by adding pictures of the learning experiences enjoyed throughout the year. Students share some of their favorite things in a paragraph "About Me." Math activities involve the student in real life problem-solving situations. Famous Tennesseans are studied and the information learned is demonstrated in a PowerPoint presentation.
Fifth graders are engaged in similar activities. However, a reflective paragraph is added to each picture in the portfolio. Famous Americans and different famous Tennesseans are studied with the information used to create a PowerPoint presentation.
Lessons in the lab are curriculum based, integrating classroom content and technology skills. At the end of the school year each student receives a personal CD of the year's activities in the computer lab.
