I graduated from the University of Memphis with a B.S. in ELED and a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction Leadership with an emphasis in Reading.  I am endorsed in ELED 1-8 and Special Education. 



Experience

I have taught a variety of grades and subjects over my 17 year career.  This is my fifth year in 5th grade at CCMS.



Bio

Christy McManus is a fifth-grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at Chester County Middle School in Chester County.  She graduated from the University of Memphis with a B.S. in ELED and a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction Leadership with an emphasis in Reading.  She holds endorsements in ELED 1-8 and Special Education. Over her 17 year career, she has taught a variety of grades and content.  She was the 2016-2017 West TN Teacher of the Year.  As a Grand Division winner, she is serving her second year on Commissioner McQueen’s Teacher Advisory Council.  Also, she is part of the 2017-2018 SCORE Fellowship where she takes an active role in advocating for students. During the summer months, McManus’ is a facilitator and monitor for the Read to Be Ready summer grant program.  She is an avid reader and blogger.  Christy is married to Trent McManus, an economics teacher at Chester County High School, and together they have four children, Gideon, Faith, Daisy, and Silas.
